- 2 tbs Chickpeas (white or black chanay)
- ½ tsp crushed Red chili (Lal mirch)
- ¼ tsp Salt (Namak)
- ½ tsp roasted & crushed Cumin seeds (Zeera)
- 1 tbs Lemon juice
- 1 tbs Tamarind pulp (Imli pulp)
- 2 tbs Olive oil
- 1 Cup boiled Chickpeas (Chanay)
- ½ Cup cubes Gajar (Carrot)
- ½ Cup cubes Cucumber (Kheera)
- 1 small chopped Onion (Pyaz)
- 1 cubes Tomato (Tamatar)
- 2 tbs finely chopped Fresh coriander (Hara dhania)
- Finely chopped Mint leaves (Podina)
Preparation of Appetizing Chana Chat: Refreshing and Tangy Chickpea Salad
Step 1: Boiling Chickpeas
- Take chickpeas and soaked them for overnight.
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas next day, then boil them in a pot until they become tender.
- Set the boiled chickpeas aside & let it cool for later use.
- You can also add boiled potatoes, red beans, or you can use mix white & black chickpeas or boiled or marinated chicken & boiled macaroni.
- You can also add boiled corn. It adds unique flavor in salad.
Step 2: Cutting Vegetables
- Take all the vegetables of your choice like cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, green chilies, mint leaves, carrot and fresh coriander.
- Wash them well & chop all the vegetables. Set them aside.
- You can also use cabbage, radish, beetroot etc.
- If you do not like raw vegetables or oil you can just little sauté them, but raw vegetables are more healthy to eat.

- Take a bowl add some tamarind and soak it in hot water for 30 minutes.
- Then remove guts from soaked tamarind.
- Then in a bowl add red chili crushed, salt, cumin seeds, lemon juice, olive oil & tamarind pulp, mix them well & set them aside.
- You can use black pepper or use red chili powder instead of crushed red chili.
- To enhance flavor & spice you can also use chat masala.

- Take a large bowl and add cut vegetables like carrot, cucumber, chopped onion, chopped tomato, fresh coriander, mint leaves, green chilies, boiled chickpeas, and then drizzle dressing toss everything together until well combined, & then serve.
